I’m Alec, I’m 16 and I’ve been doing triathlon for roughly 5 years. About 3 years ago, I made the decision to compete in the sport more seriously and this was the best decision I have so far made in my life, as training plus racing makes me feel awesome! I know I’m now going to bed earlier than I was at 11, but the rewards more than make up for it!
Since I started, I’ve won WA Triathlete of the Year in my age group 3 years in a row (2015 – 2017) as well as claiming a School Sport Australia title and a Cross-Triathlon ITU World Championship title in Juniors. I enjoy helping other kids in the sport as it promotes healthy living and helps children find something fun in their schooling years. I look forward to being able to train and race more as I approach the end of my time at school.
