Pia’s Mavic Open Pro rims with Ultegra hubs

Pia’s Cadex ALR1 is one sweet old racing bike. It was one of the first lugged aluminum road bikes that was built for the mass market. The next model up  Cadex CFR1 was the team bike of the Giant-A.I.S. team which included some of Australia’s most talented riders in the early 90s. Pia’s Cadex has the original 105  groupset that is still robust and reliable. To celebrate the bike’s coming of age (it’s 18th birthday!), I’ve built a classic set of wheels with Mavic Open Pro rims and Ultegra hubs. Mavic are the ‘netural support’ wheel at the Tour de France and have been producing bicycle components since 1889.
